Could anybody read it? about samsung-schneider

This have been around.

¼g¯u°g - °Q½×°Ï

Here the google translation:
[Seventy-one thousand four hundred and forty-four] Samsung-Schneider-Alpa
I just received the news ...!!!

Foundation benefits
A kind of noise caused by many large companies the agreement between the three incoming. The agreement will create a high-end photographers, photo artists and creators to create the new system.
Samsung, Schneider - Kreuznach finishing and Alpa is a big deal to create a photographic Association (SSA) to create the first fully digital, medium format camera system.
Samsung Electronics, Mr. President, Secretary Department of Justice Park said: "Each company in each of the consortium of professional and high quality system for the medium format of the sensitive components of the professional, we have completed the first medium-format CMOS sensor, and the first model electronic components. "
Schneider Optics CEO Dwight Lindsey said: "To our actual Alpa lens system will fit with the new system, we have taken the same mount, but we are working on a new formula for the optical system and fully electronic oriented. "
In fact, we do not have information, or in this new system will be published.

They are talking about a new system, MF cmos sensor and schneider lenses.

What are "Alpa lenses"? did they mean "Alpha"?

That's is Alpa, a company perpetually in need of money. In the same way that Leica turned to Panasonic, Alpa may be turning to Samsung.

I'm guessing it is quit expensive to use. Samsung is going to make a new sensor for that system? That would be a possible great thing, but not so good for 645D. Or is this just a dead end due to the changes in FF systems.

Alpa has historically been among the most expensive cameras and systems out there. It would be ironic to see them turn to Samsung. Even their vintage stuff is out there.

Unless something got lost in translation, this part makes no since. They are late to the party. Hassy, Mamiya and Pentax beat them to the party, unless they are planing an EVIL MF.

Maybe someone is just wishing for Alpa to be "saved"?
IMO, it's strange for Samsung to enter such a market. And btw, they should hurry with their "first fully digital, medium format camera system", because... oh, wait; it's already too late

Digital backs for the Alpa and LCDs would make sense. Schneider already makes most of the Alpa lenses with Rodenstock and Zeiss making some. However, I don't see Samsung marketing such an expensive item.

I see Samsung wanting to be associated with such an item. IN general South Korean manufacturers are seen as lower-tier, so this move (if it is one) allies them with the "perception" of higher quality.

Alpa is more like a cult than even Leica. Someone called it an architect's camera.

But how many people knows about Alpa? Perception can't be created without such knowledge.

Far fewer than know about Leica. Alpas, Exaktas and Mirandas, oh my!

There was an ALPA k mount SLR

Alpa Si 3000

and judging by the picture, at least one k mount lens!

That may be a Chinon made lens. Asahi Optical actually made some of the SMC Taks in a special Alpa mount. The 15mm and 45-125 SMC were 2 of them.

Probably more people than you think know about Alpas, but very few people have owned/do own one of their cameras.

They've made high-end, very expensive, well-regarded 35mm and (more recently) MF and LF camera bodies for a long time, but they're like high-end Hi-Fi manufacturers, in that the people with enough money to buy them appreciate them, but their advantages have many other people scratching their heads.

Then again, if they had a real choice, who'd have a Bugatti Veyron, rather than a BMW M3 or a Porsche, and why? There's no one answer to that, just as there isn't for who'd buy a Leica or an Alpa instead of a Nikon (let's keep it neutral here). And, just to keep things on topic, you'll probably find someone else's bits in any of those cars, so why not Alpa's cameras, too?
