K-7 is very reasonable buying now... I think K-5 will be a failure of Pentax. Too expensive for extra 2 MP and new video modes...

Another brands will launch the same 16 MP cameras - Nikon, SONY. Canon will offer new 18 MP 60D...
No chances to attract old users with K200/20/10/K-x...IMO.

So that's the starter's price? Gonna drop to $1,100 in 6 months time?

If K-5 has 16 MP FF sensor... Like in new D800. But I doubt.

It should bring a lot of other function for that price too. If I remember well the rumored price for Sony A55 with the same sensor is under 1000$, so the new sensor alone can't cost that much.

I'm afraid that K-5 can bury Pentax division if Pentax can't announce FF camera soon or can't say anything about FF's plans at Photokina. No FF in the nearest 6-7 months, no future. IMO

If isn't FF who's gonna buy it?

K7 is reasonable to buy maybe in US. In Europe new is 1150 Euro (only body!)
I think i'll skip K5 too. And the following 2-3 new bodies!

Well, like me, you can finally resign and use:
- Kx when you need high-iso (after all, it's nearly up there with the FF big boys in the High-iso dept.).
- and film when you need the DoF control... (put the cost per frame that really need FF against the price of a FF DSLR, and you're good to go for a thousand years...).

Now, sure, when you need both at the same time, you're screwed...
