New K-x Fall Colors!

I just saw this today, I didn't notice it a week or two ago when I last checked Pentax's website... They have 4 new fall colors; Chocolate, Olive Green, Beige, and Pink. I think they look really nice. So, that makes 12 different K-x colors available in the US?

Pink = Fall Color.

Must be different in Illinois than in Wisconsin ...

OTOH, my bride tells me that the only colors I recognize are those found in the basic Crayola eight-pack. Is that bad?

I was wondering about the pink, too... they could have made a yellow or a dark orange, at least they'd be more "fall-ish". They should've saved the pink for spring.

Didn't Pentax announce this in a press release no so long ago? In any case, I think they're going overboard with the colors.

I disagree. I think the colors are fun. You don't have to buy one if you don't want to. If someone wants a pink camera more power to them. I wouldn't buy one but I certainly don't have any objection to them.

Pink is not a traditional Fall color, but October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the pink is their color. So introducing pink for the Fall is a shrewd marketing move by Pentax.

I have a question concerning these new colors. Is any vendor selling any of them for the same price as B & H? Only place I have found them so far is through Pentax and even though I need to rock the pseudo tac colors, my wallet will deny that option if they are being priced higher.

Point is, they should fork out a new body or something rather than beat a dead horse.

This news has now magically appeared on our homepage

And, it seems to me that the new colors are only available directly from Pentax (aka you'll end up paying $650).

Colored cameras are good fun.

However Pentax is on the verge of becoming too much of the funny brand.

In the Netherlands there are two stores that actually have all 12 colours in their line-up. I think that is cool!

Its a trickle down thing. First you can only get the new colors from the pentax site but after a period of time (it took about a month or so for the first purple, orange & etc batch) they get to the retailers like Adorama, Abes of Maine and the like.

I don't mind! I also don't mind that pentax only makes 2(3?) models.

I do mind that olive green looks kinda military, in a severely awesome way
