Time have come and the K-X is gone with the wind

I realise that the K-r is very close in specs, but with the K-x credited more than any other product with the revival of Pentax, I think they should have kept it going for longer to maximise the new users it can draw in. It´s by no means out of date.

I'm sure there will be new old stock for quite some time to come, and by the time it's gone the K-r will probably have come down to the K-x's current pricing.

AT B&H, many models are not in stock anymore. They have 2 lenses kit in stock

Will there be a successor to the K-x soon? Or should I consider the K-R as the successor of the K-x?

I was going to write that the succession to K-r is clear.

On second thought, Pentax may look at keeping the K-r at a higher price than the K-X, placing a new (mirrorless?) body at the USD $450-$650 price point.

For now though, the K-r is the only Pentax option. Pricing should give us an indication of direction.

For anyone in Oz who's interested in snapping up a K-x before they go, there is at least one store here in Perth that has new K-x (not refurbs), with 18-55 and batteries/charger for $499! Not bad, eh?

I'm not sure how much the k-r costs there, but if isn't that much of a difference, the k-r would be the better alternative.
