I trust that you weren't speaking from a grouse moor somewhere in northern Scotland, with a double-barreled Purdy shotgun ready-cocked at your side.......LOL !
Oh what I wouldn't do for a 400 f/2.8 (AF) or a 500 f/4 so you're saying that birders will be happy too...I love shooting birds....
Hi Paul,
I know the designs are done or being completed for certain focal lengths (those above 300mm...). Don't hold your breath for an AF 400/2.8 though! The side bonus is that I suspect with time, those third party manufacturers will take notice of Pentax's success and start producing more options in the Pentax mount.
Besides, I think your listed focal lengths are too short...
Forgot to add that I played with the Pentax 18-250 and it's nothing like the Tamron version. Focus is faster and image quality is top notch, plus it's cheaper than the Tamron. I may actually break down and purchase this as an all around zoom.
All I care about is whether or not Pentax delivers a true MF Digital camera body (i.e.; the 645D) AND a 12 Mp body to "update" the K10D to compete with Canikon!

First part wait and second part is yes but better!

The rumor is the K100D super will have a $100 rebate. If that proves to be true we could be seeing a kit of the 18-250 and the K100D super being offered for somewhere around $890 to $840. Maybe even a little less. That would, IMO, just sweep the market.

lol.....I actually grew up hunting pheasant....but now just w/ a lens....
Longer lenses... something along the lines of the seemingly extremely rare FA* 400mm f5.6 would be cool, or f4.5 or whatever keeps the size and price down. On a side note its strange how rare that lens seems to be.
I guess an interesting question re new bodies, especially the one above the k10d is, will all current DA lenses work properly...
