PENTAX DSLRs: Something new is coming and it's right around the corner. Pentax will be the first to get it.

What is it?

The 1st gold plated DSLR for the Chinese market? Alliance with LV for some special LV LIMITED lenses? K-5 with Rolex movement? Built-in plate for RRS head? SR that could shift so much, doubled as travel alarm? Or perhaps the see-through IR that Sony once mastered? I don't know. What is it? I have been reading exciting Pentax rumors for so long I am a little numb.

Somehow I think it has something to do with the inavailability of the Pentax D-BG4 grip. Maybe iPhone or 3G connectivity?

You might be right, its says "k7/k5" will get it , they are the same body and both of them and only them use that grip....

Indeed. And the old rumor of a grip with GPS could probably come true too.

A grip with built-in wlan support and tethering software would be great (then you're only an app away from iPhone (or other smartphone) and 3G connectivity anyway). If this is a product that has been in the works for a while, it could finally explain Pentax apparent and strange disinterest in providing tethering software. It's just so wrong that my K10D can do tethering, but the K-5 or the 645D not.

Sense it's for both K7 and K5 and other brands will also get it, could be:
1. new battery technology-10,000 shots on a single charge.

2. battery grip with built-in extra memory card slot.

3. a virus that will erase the firmware and leave the camera useless.

Don't really think a new grip/GPS/battery etc reflects the statement above.....
Having said that I havn't the foggiest, but it sure has me intrigued!

Intrigued yes.
But invariably, this type of hype would leave me disappointed as well.
Somehow, other people's idea of "game changing" or "you won't believe it" features are never quite the same as mine.
