I guess you haven't seen the Sony FA-EX1S Flash Extender for NEX series cameras.
Flash extender is different thing...But it's ugly too.

Go and see any photos from any camera with this sensor...
Do you really believe that engineers can deceive physics?

IQ from 1/2.33" is the bottom of IQ. Don't you know it?
No, I don't, because I haven't seen the images from *this* particular camera.
I don't care what other cameras with this sensor are doing.

The designers watched too much Transformers when they designed the pop up for the flash.

Then again, if the price is low, comes in black and the image quality as good as the more serious compacts (LX5, G13, etc), I'd consider one.

Hey! Maybe it has a special feature where I can twist and turn it into a mini robot Transformer

Here's a hands on video and some more pix of the Q:

Pentax releases Q, world's smallest interchangeable lens digital camera (hands-on video) -- Engadget

It looks a LOT better in black, btw.

That is quite the understatement.

Yeah, it looks an order of magnitude better in black. Here's is Mike Johnston's take on it:

It looks better in black, but this isn't anywhere worth the price tag and it still looks ridiculous overall...

Are you sure that you can see BIG difference?
It's ridiculously to find difference in IQ between camera with 1/2.33" sensor.

But...If you're fan of every breaking wind from Hoya, let's try... Good luck.

I disagree. It's pretty small if the entire camera + zoom lens can fit in the palm for your hand...

The Pentax Q is expected to begin shipping in Japan by this August. Availability of camera and lenses in the US market will follow in early Fall 2011, and US-market pricing is expected to be in the region of US$800 inclusive of the 47mm-equivalent f/1.9 kit lens.
The PENTAX 02 Standard Zoom will cost around US$300, while the PENTAX 03 Fish-Eye is expected to ship for around $130. The lo-fi PENTAX 04 Toy Lens Wide and PENTAX 05 Toy Lens Telephoto lenses should cost around $80 apiece. Other accessories will include a shoe-mount optical viewfinder for around $250, as well as a 40.5mm polarizing filter and two lens hoods for the Pentax 01 and 02 lenses with price not yet disclosed.

Absolutely insane prices....
