Please make some sort of international warranty/support. I'm sure you and Hoya can make it work. It would be a big help.
Thank you.
It is isn't it? They had no issues with fixing (under warranty) my 540 flash in the uk that came from japan.
What I would have loved to have seen or even maybe added via an firware update is the ability to set the camera to take a photo when a loud sound happens i.e a person walking into a room or a water droplet splashing on the ground etc this would be a perfect addition to timelapse!
and actually is could be very easy to do as the camera has an ok built in mic but more importantly it has a sterio input so you could easily add a piezoelectric microphone to pick up the sharp sounds all you need is some software s the camera would listen and react when needed.
Think how useful this could be to nature photographers too being able to leave a camera close and step back and watch it capture beautiful scenes!

I m sure that such a device exists. As the shutter release cord is essentially the same as a canon one then there is probably a device that triggers the shutter via cord, on detection of sound. such a thing should also be fairly easy for a electrical minded person to create. no need for internal software. the camera has a mains supply which would make this even better.

I did some research and apparently they do have international warranty and service... BUT... none in the Philippines No authorized center(s) for the international warranty and service in the country that assembled my K20D.

Pentax Philippines might just send it to an authorized center abroad.
I'd call them and ask.
I don't know if anyone have mentioned this before (I'm not going through 22 pages to check!) but I recently found a feature missing, when I had my K20D mounted on a tripod for shooting bird sitting in a nesting box. Focus fixed, wired remote to avoid shake blur. But: the only way to use the mirrror lock up was to activate 2 sec delay shutter. So any shot was a hit and miss, or a guessing game when something was about to happen in two seconds time.
Conclusion: a true MLU would be really useful, once the camera is directed and focused there is no need to look in the viewfinder.

22 pages is a bit too much to read right now, but since Pentax is probably has already laid down the specs for the next new body, here are a couple of thoughts...
better autofocus - In the late afternoon I have deep shadows to contend with, and the current autofocus just can not handle it - so I have to switch to manual.
slightly larger levers (autofocus/manual & shake reduction) - the levers are not quite large enough to find and move in the dark by feel.
GPS - I just saw that Samsung slide it into their GX30.
Focus Stacking - to complement HDR on the K7. Maybe could be tied in with the DOF suggestion (next).
Automatic DOF calculator on the rear screen - based on the current focal length and aperture, display the hyperfocal distance and the DOF, so that the user can then adjust the aperture and or focus to get the desired DOF
Also, while I am here - putting a K mount on the Tokina 11-16/f2.8 wide angle lens. I would replace my 12-24 for the 11-16.
