Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but if I press the AF button (on the back, not the AF/AF-C/MF switch), all the K10 does is not to wait until focus has locked before releasing the shot.

My Sigma lens' AF drive still stays coupled, meaning I can not focus manually as it's not HSM. Of course, if I switch from AF-S to MF, I can. It would be cool to just decouple AF for only one shot, say for when the AF keeps hunting.

Good lord people!

just give us the K20D II with faster AF, more FPS, mag alloy body, more like a D300 killer with some more SDM lenses to finish it all off, then the 645D!!!!

I just want to throw in another vote for a weather sealed flash. Something in between the 360 & 540 with an included telephoto flash extender that pops off and on would make one SWEET little flash. Better still if there were about three capacitors in the flash or a battery/capacitor pack that could be attached to give you three full power shots in a row if needed! If they build it... I will come (to the nearest retailer with a debit card in hand).

Ah yes, we were talking about two different controls.

All I really want is a body that will let my older K-mount lenses meter the way they were intended to do.

programmable shot counter

open source firmware (free or for a fee) so I (and others) can write our own custom routines.

Allow syncing faster than 1/180 with flashes without using FP. Canon and Nikon already does that!

Add a mode to the camera so you can sync Slow Duration Flashes throught PCport/hotshoe with high speed shutter to lit up the Entire frame, This would photographers trying to use flash in the sun love, especially snowphotographers. This does nikon and canon with FP.

It's just a question of enabling metering via Live View on the K20D.

- make an update of the ist D: faster/bigger buffer and some tweaks, or alternatively make a compact limited edition to go with the DA ltd's
- make a macro (ringlight) flash that supports wireless TTL

Yes, please. ASAP. Exactly the right lens to go to the top of my LBA list. Thank you, Andrew, for this suggestion!

While we're at it, could firmware update support be continued for at least a generation or two on digital cameras, Dear Pentax? You know, while it costs a bit of engineering resource, it maintains user loyalty and camera resale value, both good things for a firm seeking to recover lost market share.

This would be my vote - K20D sensor in a compact body to match the limiteds. Don't need high FPS (bring back the wind on lever to cock the shutter!), fast AF (make it MF!), just want small (think MX), quality build, larger viewfinder possibly with a split microprism for focussing.

1. A *really* small body (similar to Oly E420) to take advantage of small DA primes.
2. A 15-18mm wide angle, weather-sealed prime lens, with rectilinear correction for architectural photography. F4.0 would be OK to keep the size and cost down.
3. A version II of the DA50-200, improved as much as they did to the 18-55 kit lens.
4. A small, affordable but good quality prime lens, F4.0, between 100mm and 150mm. A backpacker's telephoto.
5. Release the DA*60-250 for god's sake! If the quality is there, this will be an important lens.
6. Fix the QC issues with the DA*16-50.

Wow, simply said. I agree. I am basically looking for this in a "pro"-body with the addition of Wi-Fi and a sound-recorder it would be all i ever need
the 645 would be the perfect high-end that pentax could use to "comp. with" in the class of the FF 35mm dslr with better qual same price $5-8k but not truly at the med-format $15k 30+mp resolution

Dear Pentax,
Make us a cartridge in shape of D-LI50 battery that takes CR2 batteries (Nikon has it)
Put a pentaprism in K300D in other words make camera that takes AAs and has pentaprism (like DS).
Don't be greedy and add support for teleconverters in SR cameras (dial in TC factor)

I'll repeat once more for emphasis: GPS support! The only significant thing missing from the K20D imo.
