Is that a flash release on the left? That is a nice little feature.

With Grip

Well if this is true, here is a grip photo
I hope it is a mock up because it does not look good and has no grip-material on it

Look the top LCD...it's clearly photoshopped in the lower side near the prism.
And the right hand grip section seems so different from top and from towards...

@ KRO77: K100d has that flash release button there.

Not so clear to me, have you seen the full size image? The outline of the top-LCD extends on the left side because the body rises above the LCD on that side.

BTW, I must says, Pentax always makes good looking bodies. I know it's the photos that count, but still.

Idunno, that bottom view looks like none of the other existing bodies, so that either looks real to me, or very nicely photoshopped...

I would like the fact that the lower model (the K200) also has the ability to attach a grip. That's my main reason for not upgrading to a K100D from my ist DL.
If this were true, I wouldn't have to spend the extra money on the higher end model

Tom

P.S.: thanks for posting these Hope you don't mind I linked to them on a Belgian photo forum.

I didn't see full-res shots...now i agree, imho this is the real thing: but now it looks quite strange they swapped the card activity LED, the Fn button and the dial...they they reworked half of the main board to do such a thing?

Hmmm, looking at these again. I retract my earlier post!

The only thing that still looks a bit dodgy is the second zero in the K200 inscription. What I thought was obvious signs of photoshopping around the shutter area isn't - in the closeup shot it's clear that they just changed the plastic shape to accomodate the green button. Also, just noticed that the lens in pic #4 above is the DA* 16-50 - I don't remember such a promotional shot of the original K100D/Super.

It seems from the battery door that the camera still uses AA batteries! I wonder if the grip takes extra batteries, or if it's just for convenience? It doesn't seem very big, certainly not big enough for the D-LI50 cells nor another set of AAs. But it's not impossible that it contains a fixed rechargeable cell or maybe at least some place to store SD cards?

Nice find! Dying to see the K20D now

Regarding the 2nd zero, like the top LCD there is a slight body curve, it's an optical illusion.

If you look closely, the contacts for the grip are done the exact same way as the K10D which means to me... weather sealing !

What? Where are you getting that? Those things you've listed aren't near "most" of the difference between the K100D and K10D.

So, anyway, what's up with dropping the "D"?

Well yeah they dropped it ... about an inch.

The rotational switches on K10D are much easier to seal than the slider type switches on these K200D images. Dont expect the K200D to be weathersealed.

Well yes it is: forget the In-body Raw development, the two-wheels controls and use the smaller body of a K100D as base. The rest is probably a K10D in a K100D-style body.

Even the sealing and the grip are there

this is precisely the way that the K10 is labeled. what isn't on this model posted is the 'sticker' that goes on the bottom of the camera. this is the ONLY place that my k10D says its a K10D.

I suspect that sticker changes depending on which country it is going to.
