Adam,
Please ask them when we can expect Pentax USA to actually offer some Pentax Marketing swag - for purchase for gosh sakes - like even a basic black baseball cap with PENTAX on it?
Seriously.

P.S. Free would also be nice but Geeez, they don't even stock their own BB cap for us to BUY!

Sad when you want something of Pentax Swag in North america you pretty much have to make it yourself.

An update: the interview has been conducted and we (when I say we I mean the guys over in Japan right now) couldn't get the Pentax rep to stop talking! In addition, they are letting us play with the new lenses after the show closes for the day. The interview was in Japanese and it has been videotaped. Once the transcript and subtitles are ready, they will be posted!

The new Ricoh guys seemed to be very, very enthusiastic about growing the Pentax brand. More later

We're talking hours of translation here, but it shouldn't take too long

I will be kicking myself for a while that I didn't know about this sooner and that I didn't volunteer my services. Ugh.

Before the official translated transcript is released, can we have any hints? Especially about FF, and putting product on store shelves in USA?

Do they plan to restore the museum or do a proper history of Pentax. It could be used as a marketing platform (here's our history; continuing the tradition; we've preserved the DNA and brought to the modern world; Just hold a new Pentax - you get the idea).
(B&M presence, for instance).
Very good idea! Just make sure that a physical museum in Osaka is accessible as a web-museum with pictures of anything and everything. Pay Bojidar Dimitrov a nice sum of money to assist in building that webeum, and hire people from PentaxForums to the same end.

The interview being with a Japanese representative of Pentax Japan/global, they will certainly not concern themselves with the US market. I really don't understand all these people expecting information on the US market, that's Ned's business and he wasn't there. Also it strikes me that no members from the rest of the world are making similar requests, but that these members prefer asking about products... Not trying to generalise or start a controversy, but the world is larger than the US... ;-)
