Actually, I like my K10D like it is. If only it was a little less noisy on 1600 it'd be perfect. So if they put a new sensor in it that can go up to 3200 with good to excellent 1600 performance, with even more MP... That would be the only improvement I'd need. But that's me. Bigger LCD, PC sync, live view.. All nice and giddy, but gadgets none-the-less.
However, that is not worth my 1200 euro's though, imo. Good news for people using the D-BG2 though. I've heard people say it wouldn't fit due to the body size, but on this picture it is supposed to fit like a glove (it's the same!).
However, we can not say for sure whether this is the Pentax body. It's the Samsung GX-20, that's all we know.
The info is not really interesting, apart from the ISO we pretty much already knew the rest. And just knowing the max ISO is not that interesting. It could mean that the iso performance is the same as the k10d but the starting iso is 200. I think we can assume that iso 3200 will be about the same (as bad) as iso 1600 on the k10d otherwise they would have wendt iso 6400 like the d300. ISO specs are not too interesting anyways, need to see pictures to check the iso performance.
Maybe GX20 and K20 shares same sensor only [now, i think that new Pentax in-house sensor is manufactured by Samsung!] but the first uses old GX10 bodies and the latter a brand new body....just like K200 is a K10 in a K100 body, the GX20 is a K20 in a GX10 body, imho.
Hello, as I'm Norwegian I might as well enlighten you all when it comes to the pricing.
The Samsung GX-20 is priced 10% above K10D when that was launched in Norway. The general rule of thumb is price in USD * 10 = price in NOK, more or less regardless of the exchange rate, to my dismay.
So the (norwegian) pricetag on GX-20 would indicate a price somewhere around 999$, body only.
As a side note: If what's listed there are the only changes then I'm rather disappointed.
I was hoping that Pentax would keep pushing the limits when it comes to features vs. price as they did with the K10D. I can't say that I feel that the changes done, that I can see from that page, is in the same spirit as the K10D.

EDIT: This is a Pentax forum... I wonder why "Pentax" isn't entered into the dictionary

Reason: Corrected price information, forgot that it was the body+lens (K10D) that was 9990kr
Now is not the time to judge Pentax new camera as the leaked Samsung specs may not be the same as the K??D. From what has been said here, not much has been said than what was already speculated. What if the new sensor does 100-3200 ISO?
Even though high ISO sounds impressive on the Nikon D300, the ISO 3200/6400 pictures I have seen are not something I would use. For me decent ISO 800/1600 would be great with little background noise for the new Pentax. Most important for me is to get Dynamic Range as close to film as possible and making a bullit proof exposure system.
Ahhh the rumours should be really taking off now due to Samsung..

OT, I know... but because that dictionary is a 3rd party tool, and works equally the same on any message board found across the globe that uses the same one.
edit: i.e. there's no contact with the Pentaxforum Web Server when the dictionary control is performing it duty on your text.
Otherwise. Yipiie ... real substantial information and not just teasing of us! <soapbox>If a thread starts with the letters "benj" I've pretty much stopped checking-in let alone actually keeping up with reading it, because it can usually be summed up with "I know something fantastic that you're all going to love / go nuts over, but I can't and won't tell you...". That's enough teasing me thank you very much; just keep it to yourself. This Samsung release is great to read whether you're happy with the incomplete specs or not; ends much of the rumor mongering that I can't take anymore. </soapbox>
