WEll at the current currency rate the price of that bad boy is roughly 1800 bucks. Ofcourse in Norway they pay much higher taxes on stuff so you probably could expect this camera in the states to be around 1200 to 1400. This probably means the K20D will be a couple hundred more. Pretty cool camera, will hae to get my Norwegian wife to translate some of the specs for me
The price is about 10% more than the K10D. Very competitive.
However, it seems to be just a K10D with a new sensor and live view. Somewhat short of the expectations created here....
Well, I like the K10D, so I don't see why they should start from scratch with a new body...
And btw, it's not exactly the same. The back will be different, due to bigger LCD; but even on this picture you can see the pc-sync socket
The switch is a pain in the arse. It needs to be larger and have a more positive lock when it's in the positions. It can be a rotary switch still, so they can use a o-ring seal but, it needs to be a better rotary switch imo.
Wouldnt be surprised if the K20 came at a higher cost. Hoya themselves said that the k10 was too underpriced and on top of that the K20 is supposed to be a semi pro body so i wouldnt expect it to be a sweet deal (sub 1k) like the K10 was. Still in lew of the competition it still may be cheaper, just not that cheap.
Well, it looks exactly like my GX-10. It the pic is real, then perhaps it'll still be a clone of K20, like GX-10 is clone of K10. Not that it REALLY matters to me...
Still looks like a good thing. 14MP with (i suppose) much better 1600+ performance, and Liveview with (again I suppose) contrast-based focusing, which is very useful for near-ground shots.
Let's wait and see other specs

How can you say that when the complete specifications has not been listed yet?
And how can you judge the new Pentax from a Samsung, we don't know yet how they will differ so it is a bit early to make judgements. Many seems to believe that the Samsung will be just another re-branded Pentax, but I'm not convinced. Samsung entered the K10D project too late to have input, this time they have had much more time to develop their own things so it is likely that the Samsung and new Pentax differs. Perhaps not so much in exterior design, but in specifications and features (and price of course).
We'll see later this month if the rumours about a Pentax product annonucement/press conference is true - then we can compare.
Now, we can only judge the known things about the new Samsung - and that is all we know.
There still lots of information not known yet.
I don't get it either. The body looks exactly like the K10/GX10.
So? The rumours has talked about the specifications, I have not seen rumours saying that the body would have a completely new exterior design. And why would it need to have that? The K10D/GX-10 design is fine as it is IMHO.
