Doesn't everything fall into places?
And WendyB also seemed to be under NDA and has tested the prototype.
Also if you use a 12MP CMOS sensor as a baseline, extend it to 16:9 format, and you would get 14MP! So it can have higher pixel count but with same noise performance as D300 as they would have the same pixel density.
PS: Hmm.... what have I done? My post is supposed to be a follow up and post #14, why is it appearing as post #1?
Larry's "From Dubai:" post is supposed to be the starting post!
The new K20D will have live view and can preview the photo on the viewfinder. This was done by installing a small LCD monitor in a viewfinder meaning an EL display developed by samsung, like samsung did it on their previous SAMSUNG PRO-815 model. The live view is also available on 3 inch LCD.
There are two types of AF mode and they said that they have improved their AF performance. The AF uses a new Contrast Method and will not use their existing AF method (by Distance Measuring Mode).
I haven't seen any info on whether they even realize that predictive/tracking autofocus is whats incredibly important to be done right on the K20D. At least as good as the D300 or similar should have been the standard of performance before even accepting the final product. Hopefully predictive/tracking will be one of the 2 types.
In continuous drive mode, this new model can shoot 1080p full HD size, up to 14-16 shots..while Nikon's D3 can only shoot 510p up to 11 shots and unknown "p"(maybe 200p more than K20D) and up to 10 shots on Canon's 1D MarkIII. It also can shoot 3fps 12bit/14bit RAW file while Nikon's D300 only can shot 2.5fps 14bit RAW file. The GX-20 can record 720p video and maybe the K20D also has that feature..
The sensor will be 14MP CMOS APS-H sensor (approx 30mm X 16mm) being a little bit widescreen
Better SR than K10D
4fps
And AF is available in Live View which is better than 40D(can't use AF in Live View)
1080p, full HD, is this a TV or a camera
full HD is, in terms of camera resolution, very little, should be around 3 megapixels, give or take. Not very impressive
If you put a bit more effort into it, it would come out a bit more believable I could manufacture a much more realistic rumor than that. Actually if everything you wrote was true, I wouldnt want the new camera at all. EVF like samsung 815 instead of an optical VF ? they would be bankrupt by 2009....

Well 1080p is a video/TV term and means progressive video stream with 1920×1080 resolution. Could be 60, could be less frames per second. Above rumours simply doesn't really "stick" together especially where D300 and 1D Mark III are mentioned.
However if those rumours are partially true and have substantial base, then probably it should mean that GX-20 and K10D can film HD videos... Sensor is wide because HD video is 16:9 aspect ratio.
Well the ISO performance should blow everything else out of the water then
But I am even more shocked to learn the Nikon D3 only does 510p in 11fps mode, 720p is, around 1 megapixel? so less than 1 megapixel resolution, well no wonder they can go beyond iso 6400...

Maybe he means that D3 can shoot in DX mode 2784 x 1848 [L; 5.1 MP] with 11 fps.
And K20D can shoot in 10 Mp RAW mode and 14 Mp RAW mode?
APS-H??????
What a bu||sh|t!
This makes no sense at all.
If these features are true, this really drives me away from this "camera", ehh, multimedia toy.
I will look at it, but will probably wait for the next serious camera.
Well, well, this is the predicted paradigm change, probably ...
