Pentax to show upcoming lenses at PMA, new roadmap

EDIT: Make sure you clear your cache. There is new stuff here.

http://www.digital.pentax.co.jp/en/lens/roadmap.pdf

Was the DA★ 55 SDM previously listed as f/1.4? If it wasn't, it is now. Assuming the ★ always means weather-sealing, I know what I'm saving my pennies for.

Sadly, it's still "marketing date to be announced later", so I may have plenty of time to save. And still no aperture info for the 35mm SDM. (And I can still hope that one "grows" a star along the way.)

[STRIKE]Also in the "big news" category, the 55mm for the 645D is still on the map, and it's there in the same timeframe as the lenses which they're showing now to be released this summer.[/STRIKE]

This is good news, I'm glad the 55 is far enough along to show at PMA, hopefully it will me out soon after the other two this summer.
I thing the roadmap posted on that link is old. It still shows the 18-250 as a future lens, so hopefully they'll have a new one soon with some of the missing bit from that one filled in.

Looks good just i wonder how much it will be? atm i just use an old manual k50mm f1.8 which is pretty good for £40 off ebay but it's not weather sealed and it also doesn't have SDM autofocusing btu that would probably put it up to about £400 which is stupid!!

I was unaware that the 60-250 was a DA*

I don't get it --that link is the same old road map that's been up for a year. I thought they had some newer lenses under developement. Several people on this forum hinted that there were longer lenses in developement. Maybe I am wrong.

It is the old roadmap. DP Review just posted a short article about Pentax lenses being shown at PMA ( Pentax showcases development lenses at PMA: Digital Photography Review ) and in that they linked to the old Pentax roadmap. The OP probably assumed that it was a new roadmap when it's really just the old one. I'm sure that we'll be getting a new one soon, but it is good news that they will be showing these 3 lenses at PMA, as I'm sure they're just about ready for production.

That Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is on the top of my wish list. Followed by a Sigma 10-20mm. I'd prefer the Pentax DA*16-50 but once bitten....

From a quick look (and aboslutely no understanding of Japanese) I THINK the 300mm is currently available in Japan, which is why you see the spec sheet now.

The lens lineup 'group shot' in the Japanese version of the K20D / K200D brochure shows a considerable amount of glass not shown in other countries brochures. Big silver jobs..

jeffkrol,
I don't know about Japan, but this spec sheet says Availability as May 2008. I like the idea of 4.6 minimum focus distance. Thats almost a macro!

Actually, the Japanese Pentax web site stated that DA* 300mm will be available in second half of March. And the DA* 200mm will be available on Feb 7th in Japan.

The roadmap is old and has not been updated for a while.

Anybody have any more info on the 60-250?

In Chris' (codiac) essay thread, there was some mention of some undisclosed special "something" that was the reason why the release date for it had been pushed back. The little blurb at DPR doesn't mention anything I haven't seen before. Was that comment Chris' thread marketing hype vapor?

It's definitely an update of the roadmap I downloaded from there a week ago. Good to see a rear converter for SDM in there too.

The 17-70 is to be f4 only. May hang on to my Sigma then, it's 2.8-4.5, and I like faster lenses for inside stuff without flash.
