Ricoh wants to grow Pentax. The most obvious niche Pentax is missing is FF, which seems to be exploding in terms of DSLR market share.

If Ricoh stays true to their word, the only questions are when it's announced and when it's for sale.

"Good things are coming..." doesn't sound so much like FF-is-coming to me.. but I do believe that one, that good things are coming from Pentax this Photokina.

it's a tricky way to say "no FF but high end APS-C to come" AFAIC.

"Good things are coming..." perhaps it was in reference to jumping ship

Will be competitive only if it's 1/2 price & 1/2 size.

I think they're saying, "you're going to see another APS-C camera from Pentax that gives even the FFs a run for their money." And they just might even be referring to the 645DII too!

Good stuff!!!

The registration distance makes 1/2 size difficult.

Has anyone considered that they might go halfway to FF and release an APS-H camera like the Canon 1D?
