What camera is this from?

Now that the dust has settled, it's time to find out...

This was one of the first shots on the web supposed to be from a K20D. We haven't seen detail like that coming from it, so what camera do you think it was? 1Ds? a HB?

Why do you think the photo was not from the K20D?

Of course it's a K20, can't you see the hot pixels?

Don't know about your K20D but mine takes more detail than that... yours must be bust like Phils.

This is very-very-very old photo taken by k20d. It was released with cutted exif by someone who has tested preproduction k20d in bulgaria.

I don't see anything from that photo that says to me 'too detailed' I think you underestimate samsungs sensor.

Pois é.

Would anyone point me to a legitimate K20D picture where we can see sub-pixel detail (like the A/C grill on that sample)? Thanks.

The A/C grill on that sample shows pixel, not subpixel detail. The pixel spacing coincides with the grill's spacing and the contrast is low.

Because the RAW converter misinterpreted some of the edges to be vertical rather than horizontal (*), we can even logically deduce that this is at the RAWs native resolution Of course, could still be a 100% crop from a larger sensor...

(*) A typical RAW conversion error at pixel-sized line structures.

Maybe my monitor is bad, but I don't see anything special about that photo at all.

some random poor-lit shot probably hand held of a Bulgarian marketplace is hardly a testament for ANY camera.

HAHAHA I actually remember this shot waiting for the official K20D release.

For note this is far from a good example of what the K20D is cabable of. I can point you to some of my crops if you want to show you the detail I get.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2203/...35c84fbe_b.jpg

and

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3220/...4fc0d227_o.jpg

now these are crops, unaltered just straight conversions from raw in light room, in light room auto settings to. ( the last one is a bit noisey due to something I did in the raw conversion tho, but not sharpened other than the lightroom default ).

And I have seen much better in other K20D images other there

I like your first image very much. Is there a chance that you post the (downsized) original as well? Also EXIF data is missing. lens/iso/aperture/shutter?
