I'd love it if the same thing happened in Romania. I highly doubt it.

The local price is not that bad really. It's B&H price + Shipment + VAT + Customs Taxes + 150$. Then again, you can bypass some of those.

You've got a point there.

You also don't bypass the 2 year warranty you get by purchasing legit.

It's nice to see you are as useless as ever ... Actualy the current price for K20D KIT is 4006 RON/3.64 = 1100,55 Euro (VAT included) at the Pentax dealer maybe 2-3 percent lower on some online shops. And it was so from the launch on. So, nothing to complain except if this is the only thing you are able to do. I am sure the additional 55 eurocents above 1100 euro prevents you from buying one.

Please don't change!

Peace, Radu? I really don't like name calling.

I am well aware of the prices. I check them bi-weekly (or thereabouts). But tell me this - would you mind a drop? No matter what price it is.

Everybody likes it cheaper.

I am not defending local Pentax representative but they have pretty good prices and are nice and helpfull. Give them that. Besides today I am happy because I finally got my DA* 16-50!!

Name's Dan.

Wow, congrats on the purchase of the lens. Let's hope it's not one of the duds.

My new (to me) Tokina 70-210 is due in 6-10 days.

I'm currently in negotiations with my employer to try to get him to sell Pentax camera equipment as well.

Actualy, that also means 1700$. Adorama has the same kit for $1170. I'll use this price as reference price. If we buy two kits for lower shipment cost per kit, we end up at $1250. You can get a DA 70mm Limited as bonus.

You lose the 2 year warranty if you buy from the US. You might have some connections over there, but for those of us who don't, the extra $530 is worth it. At least it is to me.

If you're a bit of a risk taker, I suppose it's a good deal. Pentax cameras are rather reliable.

Hi, Teo

It is pointless to compare prices of almost any goods in Europe vs the US of A. But back to the point the romanian prices are in line with the rest of Europe. I would never buy expensive stuff and have no warranty on it. So for me US prices means nothing.

It's not pointless at all, because Focus94 recognizes the international warranty.

Teo, correct me if I am wrong but for products perchased outside Europe I don't think you will have more than 12 months of warranty by Focus94 if any. In Romania the law says 24 months warranty remember prior to 2007 it was 12 months here too.

Indeed you will get only 12 months. Note that with some others (say Nikon) you get no warranty at all
