1) Can the 1.4x TC be used with any DA lens ?
2) Also what does the SDM signify ? does it mean that SDM will be available on non SDM lenses when coupled with this TC ?

(Sorry, never used a TC before)

Cheers

Don't think though that I will care for any kit zooms with plastic bayonet.

And this M = "Miles", what does that come from?
I know. I can say it is a bit smaller than *ist DS.

Maybe metal price is high..? Without plastic I guess they couldn't lower the price enough to be competitive.

Translation

hahahaha

The word "Miles" does not appear in the the German version, I feel the Google translation is seeing the "K-m" as km (kilometres) and converting it to "Miles"

So! What does the "m" stand for??

"K-M is the smallest Pentax DSLR and smallest DSLR in the world with in-camera SR."

This could make for some great marketing if the specs hold true to this being the smallest camera available. People like small.

While I REALLY wanted something new above a K20D announced, I am happy if Pentax can create a nice camera that sells to the masses. It can only help the bottom line and marketing efforts and thus help with R&D and future higher end camera production. For now, I will just upgrade to K20D and keep a K10D till probably after PMA when the next announcement will come and I spend another week constantly checking this message board! HA!

The K-m is a very interesting camera; I would like to see more specs and especially the dimension/weight comparison against the K200d and the entry level dslr from other brands.

It seems the K-m will be quite a bit smaller than the k200d, notice the top panel lcd is gone and the mode dial is on the right hand side of the camera. I wonder if it takes AA batteries, will definitely get one if it does. Add a DA 40mm and use it as a take-it-anywhere camera.

I can’t keep myself from chuckling when seeing the new “L” lens and it means something entirely different from c***n “L”. It would be hilarious if Pentax “L” lens happens to be white. Now how about a new slogan: “Pentax: L is nothing, * is the King”
