Samsung spin off camera division

Heavily tied up with Pentax in a very close alliance, it is with interest that Samsung have made this announcement.

In order to keep up with the constantly changing consumer market, a new digital imaging company will be set up and listed separately whilst retaining the same ownership. This will give a greater sense of autonomy and flexibilty to R&D and product development.

Samsung Techwin (current company) is responsible for heavy industry and defence items, including self-propelled artillery as well as camera production. So it is obvious to see the different needs of the camera division.

This leads on to what future development can be made with the next generation of image sensors and electronics for new Pentax/Samsung cameras.
