The $65 you've noticed is in addition to the $55 earlier pop up since I bought my K20D on 11-10-08.
I was considering a 50 SMC-A f1.2 out of japan brand new, but three days after the announcement that Japan made lenses were going up in price in Jan 09 the seller raised his price almost $100. So no sale to me. Its ok though, it isn't supposed to be an exceptional 50mm 1.2 compared to other brands. Nikon still sells their 55 1.2 AiS brand new for $100 less and I can use this mount instead via my other system.
I'd say buy your K20D now, when k10D dropped off the system pentax re-elevated the few remaining back to issue price for pentax website only sales. For K20D issue price was $1,299 so I guess even $809 delivered is a decent deal, huh?

I just purchased a K20D for $615 from prodigital2000, that was last night and this morning I received a UPS notification that the item had been received by USP for shipment. Now it shows a departure scan. Fast turnaround there, esp. since I'm just down the highway. Should be here tomorrow or Wednesday.
I did see a notice on the pentaxwebstore.com site this weekend that they were out of stock: PentaxWebstore K20D Body Only Kit As of today though they're back in supply with an estimated ship time of 1 day. The price there has remained at $999. Could have been a momentary delay somewhere in the supply chain, maybe wait a week or two for things to flow back out into the reseller channels? Pure speculation on my part.
Edit: K20D, I purchased a K20D..

Interesting. The price for the body alone sold and shipped from Amazon has remained $742 since Black Friday (when a Optio A40 and gadget bag were thrown in for "free"); sold from Adorama through Amazon, the body is $704. On the Adorama site, the price is $744 for the body.
Trivial differences, but interesting nonetheless. I'm wondering if the websites have an algorithm that adjusts price as volume sold moves up or down?? Any marketing gurus know the scoop?
Looks like Amazon has finally gotten rid of the free Optio A40 and gadget bag. Guess it was some sort of x-mas deal.
We probably won't see another price reduction until the K30D is released :-)
All depends on what people will pay. The BIN prices are higher than that, but I dunno if they're actually moving. Some people will go for a BIN rather than a bid just for the convenience factor.
And then there's Craigslist, where no one seems to know what anything is actually worth. :P
