DA 18-250 removed from lens roadmap!

Check this Interchangeable Lenses : Digital Cameras : Imaging Systems Division : PENTAX and click to view roadmap pdf. Seems the DA 18-250 was removed. Does this means they stopped production of this lens (or filed for divorce with Tamron?)

I would think the 18-270 will fill the void.

I thought the 18-250mm had been removed several months ago?

Unlikely as that has OS built in (more expensive and redundant) and the extra 20mm aren't significant.

I suspect that this may be due to the price increases that are happening at Tamron

alfisti: I would think the 18-270 will fill the void.
I would be quite surprised ... for the same reason I mentioned above

The Price Increases at Tamron (in Canada) are almost a drama/dras tic as
Pentax Canada's increases

Cheers,

Jack

Seems like the Pentax 18-250 was redundant with the availability of the Tamron 18-250. I suspect that the sales of the Pentax version didn't justify keeping it in production. The periodic threads on whether to buy one or the other, usually favored the Tamron original because of the longer 6 yr warranty.

Or the super telephoto is replacing it.

Also, at Tekade.de, the 18-250 'suffered' a big drop in price, only Pentax version. So it may be in its way to be discontinued.
