Recently I had the chance to view results from a product shot that were taken with the H3D-31, the Nikon D3 and our K20D using Profoto strobes. The Hasselblad naturally offered the highest resolution but the RAW file from the CCD sensor was the least accurate in colour rendition compared to the actual physical product. The D3's output was a tinge yellow but it was the one that most people favoured because it has a nice pop to it. Surprisingly the most accurate straight from screen was the K20D, which surprised many. Straight from camera output with accurate colour rendition is a must for the new camera.
and which raw converter was used to see the results ?

Phocus's Hasselblad Raw Converter (HRC) to view the .3FR files as Tiff plus exported as DNG. Others were straight DNG opened in ACR.

By fixed sensor I mean one that can not be upgraded in the future, like you can do on a 'Blad etc. A removable back or module design.
not sure what to make of this photo someone posted on DPR:

I would probably buy one, but not at the $20-30k price point. At that point, I'd be looking at digital Leica cameras or Hasselblads.

Something about the way medium formats create pictures appeals to me, though. hmm...

It was posed yesterday on the forum... Quite big news.
I thought this camera will be around 10K.
And Leica S2 around 8K!

(Sorry kenyee for posting the image again)

Looks great, imo.

If I wanted a 645D I could probably afford it (at the prices discussed) I just don’t have an interest in getting one. I have been taking photos for a long time now and MF (like LF) has just not interested me. The size of the system and the other limitations just don’t appeal to me. To small and limited or to large and limited are just as bad. My istDS was smaller then I liked and also limited but my K20D is about just right. Getting a battery grip for my K20D would be a step down for me. The K20D has so much I have to work to get to its limits. I just printed a 24 inch photo from the K20D so I don’t need more MP I would like a little more dynamic range and the 645D may have that but it is more limited in most other ways to me. A FF DSLR has such a small increase bang and a big increases in bucks (and is generally larger in size) I don’t see why someone would get one. If they had to have more MP/DR the bang/buck for the 645D makes more sense to me if you need that and can live with the other limits. If someone gave me a 645D I would play with it but soon it would just end up living on a shelf. That is not to say I think it would be a bad camera just that it won’t do what I need from it and that’s if it was free. Even Ben doesn’t need that kind of camera most of the time. But to those that do this may just be the camera at the right price.

If I want one? YES. Who doesn't ?

If I afford one? YES, but I have to rob a bank first.

Wrong info.

Leica S2 will be around $20k body only. Pentax 645D somewhere between $15k and $20k.

Engadget

this shows a different camera than the one in the picture above. Notice the CF card slot and the CF / SD card switch. This is clearly the older design... not saying anything else has or has not changed but lets not get out our hopes up.

Of course I want one--and with top notch lenses, too. I'm a bit short of the price though.

You should read the comments they have made. The price in the picture corresponded to a lot more and it currantly corresponds to 30,o0o DO la res.

Lieca S2 = Overpriced, ad not by a small margin.
