Pentax advertising in two magizines I got today!

Yes, on the back cover of both PopPhoto and American Photo were ads for the K7. Can we be coming around??? I hope so!.

I haven't got my copy of Pop Photo yet...should be in the mail next week. I'll look for the advert, I do hope that this is a Hoya- Pentax turn around in advertising philosophy.

Another thing that I've been waiting for an actual full test of the K7 in Pop Photo.

Maybe the ad space is getting cheap? IMO, American Photo and Popular Photography are two of the worst photography magazines on the planet.

Any cover is good. Now if you could only find a local store new most of us in the USA to look at and take a few test shots with the K-7 would also be nice.

Both mags have been favourable to Pentax. They are fanboys of the entire industry as they derive their revenues from a competitive marketplace.

The last thing these magazines want is only 1 or 2 major players. Then what will happen is there will a Canon magazine and a Nikon magazine. Like with videogames.

Pentax normally runs a few months of magazine ads at the beginning of a new camera model run. This was true with the K10 and K20. After this short run of 2-3 months they quit running the ads. Shame.
