I was supposed to start a thread on this, I guess you beat me to it.

A Pentax executive said at the press conference the company plans to focus on DSLR cameras by bolstering its DSLR line of entry-level, middle-class and high-end models, and it plans to have an annual total production of 1 million units by 2009. The company also plans to introduce 10 new interchangeable lenses this year and about 25 new lenses by 2009."

More good news, it seems (based on the link) that the Pentax CEO has denied the discontinuation of the 645D.

I hope all of this is true.

I come from the Philippines where most of the K10Ds are assembled and I have purchased a K10D as well. It certainly is good news if Pentax continues its assembly here, more jobs and more investment for my countrymen.
