It's a shame you can't get the white body with the white/creamy grip. Now that would be an awesome combo
I'm really impressed by how the managed to come up with those specs at that price. That seems to be an amazing value and a worthy competitor to the big players indeed.
No I think K-M gone, K-X entry level (and what an entry level!!), K7 mid to high prosumer, and maybe a K20 but FF with a Sony sensor and I think it might be sooner rather than later.
This is completely and utterly brilliant design for the "dayglo set", the same people who like coloured mobiles and iPods. Pentax now truly has something no-one else has. "Hey I want a pink and purple SLR!" Who are you going to buy it from? "Pentax!"
Of course all these colours are only in Japan, where they can place products in stores. But even in other markets there will be black and white bodies as standard, and with matching lenses. And then blue and red as limited edition releases later.
I wonder when they will have a k20d replacement? :P (no I don't think the k7 is it, far too small an update)
Agreed, we'll cop some flack, but as a K20D owner I'm not the least bit tempted towards a K-7. My next Pentax DSLR will need to be significantly upgraded from K20D/K-7.
I think that before Christmas, this is the line-up. The price point says the new K-x is the mid-level, not entry, though it sort of spans the gap a bit.

I dont see this as a problem....afterall we have a fellow pentaxian in Japan who can order the body for us
