I am looking around for the best deal for the K-x and happen to spot this offer.

That $739 seems a good deal.

I paid $799 for K-x black with Pentax kit lens from Officeworks. With freight $739 would equal about $759. Oh well.

But Officeworks is just down the road, and they have a very good returns policy, so I figured it the extra $40 wasn't too bad.

In retrospect I probably could also have haggled them down a bit, like I have before with computer gear (hard drives, monitors etc) to good effect, but I didn't bother this time.

Yes. If my wife would settle for a black K-x, I would prolly get the black K-x direct from officeworks, which is like 5 min drive from my house. But wifey wanted a white k-x so I have to look elsewhere. I am hoping that the other retailers like harvey norman and jb-hifi will also start to stock the k-x so with some competition, prices might come down a bit.

I noticed they had a black Kx w- 18-55 in JBHifi for $798 (before you whittle the price down). Unfortunately, the only pentax dslr they had on hand :\

I just went to Officeworks for a price match and got a 5% lower price guarantee, which works out to be $717. Happy!

Damn! I knew I should have haggled. That's a serious saving off their list price.

Wow that is a very good saving

Has anyone seen any other colours around? I'm not too enamoured of the white myself, and I only found one place with a red.
