Very cool. I would like to see Pentax just adjust their prices back to what they were last year instead though!

Rebate is not important by a new FA/DA len. By Jun 2010 the new DA/FA 560mm/4 will be released.

Curiously, the 16-50 isn't on the rebate list...

Agreed Rebates in selected regions just annoys customers elsewhere.. If the lenses are overpriced reduce the price, rather than rebate games...

Alot of hoops to jump thru, read rules

Alot of hoops to jump thru, read rules

From what I gather you must buy K-7 bundled with 18-55 WR Kit lens to start off.

Then at same point in time, on very same receipt you buy all the other lenses up to four more for max 5 rebates per household. You cannot buy Pentax rebate goods at bestbuy or best buy .com.

How did I do?

I'm a fan of instant money off at point of sale rebates but it is nice to see pentax kick'n cash back to spend another day via a loaded cash card for loyal rule followers.

I hope it works for Pentax but it doesn't work for me.

You still get the $100 rebates on the lenses if you buy the body only camera, but you don't get the additional $100 that you get with the body and kit combination. That's why there is the option to check either camera body or camera body sans lens at the top.

The Best Buy restriction is interesting. I wonder why. Also, buying the lenses on the same receipt as the body seems to be an unnecessary hurdle that a lot of people will trip up on.

They were more lenient when they did this with the K-7 release. Even though I am notoriously good at getting burned by not reading the fine print, I managed to get $125 on stuff I was going to buy anyway. This was largely due to the fact that I could make those decisions to buy after I bought the camera (i.e. not on the same receipt)

So I agree, good news, but it could be better.

Figures. I just bought the K-7/18-55 WR Friday. After waiting 5 months, why couldn't I have waited two more days?!? I would have liked to pick up the 55-300 as well.

Beach Camera (9.0-9.5/10 rating @ resellerratings.com) @ EBay (buy it now) - 8% MS Bing cashback - $100 PentaxUSA rebate = $1099 (no taxes/free shipping) * 0.92 - $100 = $911... we hit well below $1K already and it is not yet a Xmas time.

I want the Pentax Visa card!

lol anyway...I used their rebate when I got my camera and grip, effectively making the grip free. Also should have gotten the 40 Ltd since it would have come out to like $200 but that's hindsight.

Like rebates or not, they do encourage people to buy...

Ah this rebate totally confuses me and I have done tons of rebates in my day.

So I can buy the k-7 with kit lens and get $100 but say I buy a FA 50mm f1.4 with it will I get another $100 for a total of $200 back?

Yes very very nice.

Any suggestions on the highest BCB for an online store so I can get a lens on the same receipt? I would do ebay/beach but it would be hard to get on the same receipt.
