I managed to get it at a very reasonable price...same thing with the 6x7 -> K-mount adapter

As several posters have commented, there does not seem to be any official Pentax announcement of 645D being sold outside of Japan. Even the keenly watched countdown is only on the Japanese site and in Japanese. I'm afraid this week's official release may come as a disappointment. And if they only release the thing in Japan at this time, will they even provide review samples elsewhere?

Matt Beardsley's blog dated TODAY still quotes Pentax officials saying that the camera will not be released in the US.

Yeah that's the problem, people starting new threads when there's a current one already.

Anyway the new camera will definitely feature dual SD card slots (SDHC) that will allow concurrent or sequential write across the slots.
There will be interest in the pixel pitch of the sensor, 4000 effective megapixel sensor (44mm x 33mm) CCD, about 1.7x larger than 35mm film.

Well CRK Australia has one again confirmed that it will definately be released in Australia but the date and price is TBA.

2. Compatible with Nikon, Canon, Sony/Minolta, M42 & Pentax Lenses.
3. Shoots up to 2160p60 video in raw.
4. Burst mode of 1600fps.
5. Weights only 150g.
6. Waterproof to 10Km
7. Can shoot 3D
8. Inbuilt HD projector for up to 100" screens.
9. Runs on Solar Power.

Wrong!, the 3D will actually come in a later frimware.....
