Optio 555 on the blink

Hi,

My Optio 555 has learned a new trick, and I'm not to proud of it. I have lined up a shot, got everything set the way I want, and I press the shutter. At this point, the red (flash) light starts to blink, even if the flash won't be used on the shot. With this light blinking, the camera will not take the shot.

I have had to shut the camera off and turn it back on to bypass this. The other way I have gotten it to stop is to switch the battery. I have two, and as far as I can tell, it is only happening with one of my two batteries.

Anyone else seen this?
