V20, S12, M50, E50, V10, A40......

Why does Pentax have 6 models of essentially the same camera? To me, they're all compact P&S that have a range of 8-12mp, 3-5x zoom, and 2.5-3" LCD. but other than that? thats it? They're all portable in the idea that they fit in your purse/pocket but none really have a function that is greater than the next. What if you wanted something between one of these super compact models and our SLRs? Does pentax expect us to jump to Canon for the S5 IS or the SX1000? or how about the Nikon Coolpix P80? Even Fuji has a wider variety than Pentax.

I really want a P&S because i just cant lug the K10D everywhere and i want to stay with Pentax...but it looks like the only models they make are the ULTRA COMPACT. These tiny cameras with their 1/2 inch lenses are too limiting.

I know the A30 / A40 is really good. And I'm tempted by the W60. But I also wonder what the difference is between all the Optio models.
