I am glad it was fixed. I think a p&s camera is a necessity.

My trusty little Canon Powershot A80 (yeah it's old but still works great), 4 MP.

hmph, I tried to edit my post and replace the original image with one that has less compression and looks better. Didn't work, so I'll do it this way... grumble, grumble....

Am impressed with the entries here, they would still deffinetley be contenders if dslr shots were allowed as well. in fact if it didnt say what camera it was taken with I doubt many could tell. Cant enter myself as I dont have a p&s. well, I do have a camera on my mobile . I have been meaning to get a compact but then u know... too demanding..

My first entry in the P&S contest.
Staying with a quasi theme of flowers I took this one today.
The bokeh is not as smooth as the Voigtlander, but not bad for a 'free' little camera.
Exif should be intact.

This is such a fun challenge for me to host. I'm a firm believer in the abilities of the p&s digital cameras of today. The past 3 years or so have produced some amazing advances in p&s cameras. Some of my all time favorite images were taken with my panasonic fz30. Too bad the image quality isn't what the k10d gives me though. Still most shots print up quite nicely to 8x10 at least. That is what I love about this particular challenge. It really showcases the photographer behind the camera imho.

LaRee, its a fun contest to run untill you have to judge it.
P&S are very capable cameras when used by decent photographer. Amazed at the quality possible.
thanks

If it's midnite on 7/1, then I made it.

By the way, all three of these p&S cameras used in these shots broke. The Samsung is on its way back from repair. I swapped in a used LCD from ebay into the X50 and it lives again. The G500 is all in pieces.

Samsung S630 on the Alaska Highway last month
ISO 80, F7,1, 1/500

Minolta X50 in front of my house.
ISO 100, f4.6, 1/15

Minolta G500 on Victoria Peak overlooking Hong Kong - 2005
ISO 100, F2.8, 1/8 sec

If I made it cool, if not cool. These where shot with MY fuji s100fs I had posted them in another forum so I copied and pasted here. Sorry, I am trying to sneak it in.

Hi folks... Thought I would share these...A little into my personal life... I was going to e mail them to my wife as proof that Daniel is working...( as opposed to playing video games all day long) Since the age of 4, I have had him here at work with me ''working'' ..( he is 8 now, soon to be 9) Sweeping floors, bagging merchandise, running errands in house between the machine shop and offices and so forth. I have taught him what every part of an engine is and what it does and he has a pretty good understanding of it now...He can name all the major parts of an engine... Last year I taught him how to run the dyno and how things work. I will see what he will learn this year...So basically he is with me most of the time after school and all summer... .I have always taught him that if he wants to eat, he needs to work. :-) ....In other words, I am preparing a husband and I pray that someone is preparing a daughter for him... (My wife and I have done the same for my daughters, but they spend more time with her)...Anyway, I do pay him and have him tithe 10% to our church, put 20% in savings and do what he wants with in reason with the rest...Usually video games or nerf guns...Here he is work today...

and yes of course.....
