Point and Shoot Contest #12

Welcome to P&S contest #12. Standard rules for this contest are as follows:

Rules of entry

1. ANY camera other than a slr/dslr is eligble.
2. Entries will end on Sunday Nov 2nd midnight Spanish time.
3. Maximum image dimensions are 800 X 800 pixels.
4. List camera BRAND, MODEL, and FORUM NAME with entry for all to see.
5. NO THEME! Post any subject.
6. Maximum of 3 photos per photographer.
7. Post processing is fine.
8. Winner will set up and judge next contest.
9. Remember to have FUN!

A hint as to my preferences, I am very partial to a good macro shot

Mike, just want to know if a 35mm point and shoot is OK, or is this strictly a digital
contest? The scans from the negatives are digital...

Don't see why not, as long as its from a P&S I see no reason to disallow it

The problem with going first is that by the time others get to the end, they forget your photo... nonetheless...

This chrysanthemum was a little under an inch in diameter. Taken with a Fuji FinePix S5100 and an embarrassingly inexpensive screw-on macro lens.

Thanks for your answer, Mike! Here's my first one, taken with an all-plastic (including
lens) camera, the Vivitar Ultra Wide and Slim:

This is a $10 camera that is all over ebay. I used Fujicolor Pro 160S film, and the
only settings on camera is 22mm lens, f11, @1/125sec. Scanned on Epson 4490,
USM set on low, all other settings off, 2400dpi.

A picture I took of the former Tiger Stadium in Detroit, Michigan. I used a Lomo 35mm Fisheye point and shoot, I stuck my camera in a small crack in the fence around the stadium, and just took pictures. Enjoy!

Home field of (ex) Tiger stadium. I took this picture with my Lomo Fisheye camera during its deconstruction from a circular ramp around next to the (ex) stadium

A self portrait in my room with my Lomo Fisheye. Post Processing- Yellow filter, Added film grain, and adjusted curves for very high contrast.

Here are my 3 entryies, just got these developed today, used Fotacolor 400 speed film (I think), all shot with my Lomo Fisheye.

Leuven is home to one of the older universities in Europe (founded in 1425).
All are taken with Panasonic FX500 during my last visit there.

Could I fool you in thinking this is a macro shot from a bug?

I guess someone was done running.

It's quite a pleasant little city where the students allmosts outnumber the "locals".

So Mike, you like macros? I'll throw this one in the ring for the time being and mull over a couple more. I was absolutely thrilled when my husband, son and I came across this frog. Biggest frog I've ever seen around these parts. As a matter of fact I don't ever see frogs, only small tadpoles. This photo was taken with the Panasonic fz30 and olympus mcon 35 macro adapter. I love that my husband is in the reflection of the frog's eye and the puffy clouds in the sky too. I'm there too but because of my kinky curly hair, I look like a plant shadow in the lower right.

Another odd thing, coastal San Diego skies rarely look like this. It was a magical day!

accompanies, well, I got a little misty reading it! Your entry has a "pulse" to it
where mine is sorely lacking. I think the next thing I'll throw in the ring is my towel...

LOL thanks Bill! In my experience p&s cameras with their inherent large dof make them a joy to use for macro work.

Nice entries everyone!

I must admit, I don't even remember when was the last time I used my P&S, but I had fun with it, and some of my favorite photos came from that camera...

So what do you know, good ole Samsung S500 still works! Slightly "different" view at the rose (well, inside of it):
