Wanting to buy an affordable 600mm???

Is there any store or brand of 600mm lens for pentax???

Prices seems to start at $2500....is it possible to find another brand????

good freaking luck!!!
most inexpensive for it is to get a pentax 500mm/f4.5 and a 1.4x TC to give you 720mm at f6.3. this will run you somewhere around $500-800usd. you might as well get a bigma for around the same price..

depending upon budget, you might want to look around for a 500-600 mm mirror lens. There is a little camera shop in toronto that has a tameron 500mm F8 for $250. Similar finds have been reported by other members

the same shop also has an SMC 300mm F4. but it is much more expensive.

I understand that it costs $$ to engineer the lens and market and then hopefully have enough speciality buyers to create a big enough demand to justify the whole process.

Does anyone know when the last Pentax or 3rd party 600mm came out??

It seems like the ultimate investment to get a 600mm and keep it because they seem rare and should hold their value; maybe even go up in price because of the lack of production and continuing growth of digital photography.

I understand that there are not too many freaks willing to invest $3000-4000 into just a lens to shoot animals, not girls.
