Macro Lens or? 3 Lenses, 3 Images

There has been a lot of talk lately about Macro LBA, and I have been looking for a solution. Had some fun over the past week, experimenting with my favourite pastime, shooting macros in our garden.

All hand held, with a K10D and a sunny day.

Here are 3 images, first shot of a bee in Lychee blossom is with a Tamron 18-250 DiII at 250mm. Cropped, but this lens continues to surprise me.

Second with a Sigma 50mm EX DG 2.8 Macro

And the evening shot of Fresias with a Pentax SMC 31mm 1.8 Limited and onboard flash, rush shot in the rain.

I guess the only change I would make in my lens collection would be to have the Sigma 105 macro instead of the 50mm, very hard to shoot insects and other live subjects.

i like to shoot these larger closeups with a 200/4 with 60mm+ ETs on it. it works great.
gives you a good 30'' of distance.

And you need that with dragonflies for sure Roy. My 50mm Macro is just too close for that. The Tamron 18-250 does a heck of a workaround job though, but at F6.7 you need a lot of light.
