After months of soul searching and lens review/forum reading, I finally decided on a new lens. The UPS driver was kind enough to deliver it today with enough light left to get a few shots.
Both shots taken with a k100d and the Sigma Lens. BTW, Lightroom thinks it is a sigma 18-50mm.
A few photos that have detail in all four corners and the center - I'll try to get some more in the next day or two. The lower photo was shot at 1/25th sec, f/4.5 (wide open for that focal length), 70mm, ISO400.
Sorry for posting the images inline - I changed it to linked. The photos were taken late in the afternoon, which may explain the poor exposure. A few others were aesthetically much more pleasing, but didn't have too much detail.
At this point, I just want to make certain that I got a good copy, due to Sigma QC issues.
I think that you got a good lens there, just poor conditions to shoot in yesterday.
If that flag is as dirty as it looks please avoid it.
In my opinion Sigma's QC isn't as bad as some people give it credit for. They have sold some duds, but I've gotten great results from every Sigma lens that I've snapped on my camera. Including one dud that's getting sent in to get calibrated for a reason.

If everyone agrees that flag should be cleaned, maybe it is a good sign that the lens is a keeper!
I have no idea about how good or bad Sigma's QC is - we mostly get to hear about the duds! I'll try to get some additional shots today, but it doesn't look good.
Dont forget to look around your garden to if you got one .always nice shots to be had if you look. Its one of the best lenses ive used enjoy it.Attachment 7593
