Posts: 258 | Forget Rambo's Bigma, check this out! This is the new and improved Bigma for the rest of us who can't bench press 500lbs and can't afford $100,000 lenses! The brand spanking new Sigma APO 150 - 500mm F5 - 6.3 DG OS HSM. What is the OS you ask? Built in optical stabilization, which Sigma claims will save you up to 4 stops! Of course it also has HSM that is designed to work seamlessly with any Pentax body that can handle HSM. I can't wait to see what the street price will be and how well this will perform optically. Posts: 766 | I thought I read that the Pentax (and Sony) version won't have the OS since they have in body. Also since this isn't an EX lens I don't know if it will be up to the same IQ as the Bigma. When I 1st saw it I thought it was a Bimga replacement but someone pointed out that it replacement for the 170-500. But who knows, the 17-70 isn't an EX lens and is great, so maybe we'll all be happily surprised  |
