18-250 zoom Pentax vs Tamrom

Hmmm...

Pentax name vs Tamron warranty (assuming lenses are otherwise identical); $50 less for Tammy...

Which should it be?

Hi Olrocker

The choice is yours, just simply toss a coin.....heads it's Pentax, tails it's Tamron. Either way you can't lose, because they're both brilliant all-round lenses which should suit your needs almost perfectly. The only time I ever remove mine is when shooting either landscape or interior architectural photographs with the equally astonishing rectilinear Sigma 10-20mm superwide zoom. I'm sure you'll have endless fun with whatever you eventually end up buying. Incidentally, in the USA the Tamron comes with a SIX year warranty !

Best regards
Richard

P.S. Try the link below for some examples taken with the Tamron 18-250mm:

I ordered the Pentax version last Friday and it will be in tomorrow (Wednesday). The Tamron version was back-ordered and I didn't feel like waiting 3+ weeks for it.

Yeah, I like my old 80-200 but I'm thinking AF would be nice...I figure the 18-250 plus my FA35 prime would be a good combo and not too much to schlep around...

I'll probably go for the Pentax brand for continuity.
