Any suggestions?
You need to be in A mode to get apature control. Note also you need to insure that the third pin from the lens locking pin/slot is connected to the lens mount in A mode, that is how the camera knows you have an AE lens on the camera

drabina, I have the exact Sigma macro lens that you had posted a photo link to. I have had absolutely no problems using it with my K100D. The lens mounts smoothly and comes off the camera without a hitch, so I'm wondering if it was worth the effort to remove the contact pin considering that it is rounded, spring loaded and doesn't extend beyond 1 mm. Why fix something that isn't causing any problems?

Lowell: There was a tiny screw on the side of the lens near the mount that I had to loosen up when taking the mount apart. I forgot to screw it back on. Just did that and the lens is reporting aperture when set to A. Thanks for your help.

creampuff: I have mounted this lens few times on my camera without knowing all the issues with Ricoh mount. Then I saw the reports of people that had to use hacksaw their lenses in order to get them off the camera. This got me worried that it might happen to me one day. So just to be on the safe side, I have removed the pin.

Thanks to all who replied.
