anyone bought theirs from adorama? I'd like to jump on the $75 rebate, but I want to know where the good ones are coming from and with Adorama's price at $659.95, I'd love to know that theyre sending out good ones!

Same here, I'm close to pulling the trigger but wonder if the deal is really that good if I'm likely to get a problem lens.

I just guess the quality problems with this lens should now have been resolved. What do you think? Is it still risky to buy this lens or not?

So far I still don´t understand why Pentax didn´t paged a product recall like other manufacturers...

I too am wondering the same thing. I am off to Italy in 4 weeks and really want to take this lens with me.

By my informal count of this poll, 13/36 serial numbers were "bad". That's about 1 in 3 lenses that are duds. I hope the DA* 300mm f/4 has a lot better QC.
