sigma 28mm ex f1.8?

Anyone have this lens on a pentax camera? I've been trying to decide if its worthwhile. The price is great, but alot of canon users complain about front focus issues. Anyone care to comment if it has the same issue on pentax?

Yes, be prepared for focus issues.
Optically the lens is very good.
But the f1.8 lenses from Sigma are notorious for having focus issues.
Nevertheless this is not really a problem.
It can be fixed at Sigma.
I sent in a 20/1.8 with my camera and after 3 weeks I had a perfectly focussing lens back.

Well I ordered one of these. The focal length and aperture make a real attractive buy for indoor available light photography. I figure even though I'm giving up 2/3 a stop from the 1.4 50, I'm making up the hand hold issue on the focal length.

Why did you have to send the lens and the camera together?

I would consider doing this but I can't be without my camera for three weeks... that is nuts.

What exactly do they do with the equipment?

Well, without the camera all they can say is "within specs" with the camera they can adjust the lens until it works with your specific camera.
