Pentax-A 70-210/4 vs Tamron SP 70-210/3.5

I am trying to decide between these two lenses - which to keep & which to sell. Both are in excellent condition and work very nicely with my K100D.

I tried to do some comparisons, but to my untrained eye both lens seem to perform the same. So if anyone has experience with these lenses, I'd greatly appreciate your input.

Or if there is some test or something that I can do to objectively evaluate the resolution, sharpness etc of the lenses, then please direct me to it.

Currently I am leaning towards the Tamron as it is slightly faster than the Pentax across the entire range.

Thanks

don't know about the tamron but i did have a tokina 70-210 f2.8 and i have the A70-210 and a vivitar s1 70-210 f2.8-4 and a M80-200f4.5.
i've yet to find a lens in this range that is better than the pentaxA70-210. altho the vivitar is so close i can't tell the difference except that it catches color a little different than the pentax. the tamron is a 1/3 stop faster but i'd keep the pentax anyway. the A70-210 would be a perfect lens except for it's zoom creep and lack of a tripod mount. IMHO

Selling??

If you decide to sell one, I might be interested. All I have right now is an old 85-200 JCPenny k-mount from my ME-Super days.

Thanks, Jim
