Guess that lens!

A little quiz. Pick the photo that came from which lens. Both shows were taken at the f/4.0 1/50. One lens it a Pentax A 100mm /4 Macro and the other a Vivitar 105mm /2.5 Macro. No PP, straight JPEGs from a K10D. Tripod and remote used. Click to enlarge. My basil plant died, so sage will have to do.

can't tell...
the focus points are slightly different
for example the yellow flower bud is blurry in the second

I'll go with #1 is Vivitar 105mm but you forgot to set the white balance to tungsten . Without 100% crops, identical focus and proper white balance it's hard to tell. Even then, I might be at a loss!

Judging from the background size, my guess would be the Viv 105 was used to take #1. Otherwise, I will agree with cmv. Without 100% crops - it is almost impossible to tell which is which.

My guess is its neither, and maybe a Tamron 70-300 or something...
