Maybe i should re-phrase my "too dark for photos" coment..
Its more that the weather is a crumy, rainy grey. It is cold out (for June), and it won't actually be dark for another 5 hours (from when I first posted). It's that time of year when it doesn't get dark until well after 9:30. But with the weather as it is, I would have soft light until 7:00 or so, then dull grey light until it gets fully dark closer to 10:00. It was more the "grey light" that I was trying to avoid.
As it turned out, it started to rain heavily. My camera might be watertight, but I'm a wimp.
But thanks for the advice! It could be a good night to get some great reflections on the wet roads.

Hinman! Awsome photos, thanks for sharing.
Apology that I misread your comment. And you have great b&w photo and the scanned picture looks outstanding to me.
I am also into film but I find it too costly to enjoy it fully. I am currently studying all sorts of scanner and I prefer something inexpensive to approach film with just development fee + a scanner. If you have time, please share with us your favorite b&w film and if you have suggestions on scanners and approach to save cost to still enjoy film along with digital gear.
And now, I have some good news, and some bad news.
The good news: I bought a lens today!
The bad news: It wasn't an FA 50 1.4.
I bought a used Pentax SMC 100mm f4.0 macro.
I do intend to get an FA 50 1.4 soon, but I didn't want the macro to slip away.
I'll write more on this when I start a thread on it.
Mike
I agree with KungPOW.. I just got my 50 f1.4 last night.. It is built much better than I expected! It has a nice weight to it. It feels real solid. I also received in the mail today my email purchase of a rubber pentax lens hood. It fits perfect and is collapsible. I took some shots of the cat and dog, but will not post any pics of them.. I have already done that too much! yay for me yay for me!
I don't Think I have much to add with regard to film and scanning. I usually shoot Ilford 400 XP2 because it is easy to get developed at a one hour photo. I get them to scan it for me. Yes the cost is a problem.
I am very close to getting myself a black bag, a developing tank, and some chemicals, and do my own developing in my kitchen sink. With the marvel of youtube, I now know everything a person will ever need to know about developing tri-x. (kidding here.) That should help with the costs.
Maybe this is for another thread.
This thread is all about the great lens that is the FA 50 1.4
