Sigma 18-125mm F3.8-5.6 HSM

Does anyone know of where I can get some real info or tests on the new Sigma 18-125mm F3.8-5.6 HSM? I've asked google and all he can come up with is press releases and repeat info.

I'm trying to decide if I want to keep waiting on the new Pentax 17-70mm or just break down and go the 3rd party route. I've read tests of the old non-HSM 18-125. It did ok for a big zoom, but I'm hoping they can get some of the distortion out of it in the new version, and possibly get it a bit sharper on the edges.

If I were you, I'd definitely wait for the 17-70. constant f/4, weather sealing (?), SDM focusing & more.

Yeah, the constant aperture is a big factor for me, as is the weather sealing, but the better range of the Sigma cancels that out. If the Pentax was a 16-85 then it would be a no brainier for me, but as it is it's just a very attractive lens, and obviously better than a 18-55mm, but not it's still not ideal. I'm basically looking for a good walk around/travel lens, but I also want good IQ and low distortion (get tired of fixing that in post processing), so that rules out the 18-2xx's.

As far as SDM; Sigma HSM = Pentax SDM, so that not a factor for me.

I finally found a review of this lens:
Sigma 18-125mm f/3.8-5.6 DC OS HSM Lens Review

The Digital Picture doesn't seem to taken with it. Although I've noticed that is the norm for him when it comes to Sigma. He always seems to go easier on Canon lenses then he does 3rd party alternatives; even when the Canon equivalent is twice the price and only slightly better. He says it's not a really sharp lens, but using his own lens comparison tool I can see very little difference in the Sigma and the much more expensive Canon 17-85mm (a lens he says has very good IQ).

I think I'll still hold off forming an opinion until I see a review from DPR, Photozone, or, Photodo.
