Are they mountable?

Hi folks,

This is my first post and a cry for help Few weeks ago I just opened that old box of my grandpa's photo gadgets and took three lenses to try:
Carl Zeiss Jena Biotar 58mm f/2.0-16.0 No. 3021043
Carl Zeiss Jena Sonnar 135mm f/4.0-22.0 No. 2680360
KMZ Industar-50-2 50mm f/3.5-16.0 No. 86069495

The Industar fitted perfectly on my K10D with genuine M42 mount on however the CZJ oldies are to loose to fit. Please advise, do I need some special adapters for them or they wont mount in any way?

Thanks,
Fortunatas (aka fortis)

Sounds like the CZJ lenses are M39 thread. There several brands of M39 to M42 adapter available on fleabay or I am sure that B&H, etc carry something similar.

Thanks felix68,

I'll check for M39>M42 adapter in fleabay... thought it was over with M42
What are possible issues when mounting two adapters (my M42 is genuine Pentax)?

If they're designed to work together you should be fine

However, if it moves the lens further out, even a hair you'll loose Infinity focus
So the mountains and trees won't be nice and sharp looking.

If this is the case send the lenses, and m39 - m42 adapter to me, and I'll give them a good home
Just kidding, keep them all stored away. If you ever get a Sigma body they'll work out for you
I don't know if it'd work for any other system

I meant that my troubles with old lenses were over having M42 adapter... but it's not
I have to have M39 as well

Yesterday tried KMZ Industar-50-2 50mm f/3.5-16.0 I liked it but did not like the way the camera looks with open contacts in front.

The Industar is really an ugly thing, isn't it? :P I know because I own it. Really good lens. Also decidedly one of the ugliest lenses out there.

The Industar was my first SLR lens. I learned most basics with just that. And a Russian SLR with 5 speeds.

The ugly Industar in another of the lenses I want to get. But I remind myself that I already have:

M-50/1.4
M-50/1.7
A-50/2
SMC Takumar 55/1.8
Super Takumar 55/1.8
SMC Takumar 50/1.4

.....and that I really don't even use 50mm lenses very much anyway.

I don't think it's LBA :)

Few days ago just got another old M42 - it's Helios 44-M 2/58 for 14.5 Euros. Well, as advised before, I've read through forum's posts on these lens and found that there is an issue of stop down pin that might struck in the contacts.

Tonight's mission was to "disable" the pin. Everything was... not so bad until ball bearings fell down from aperture ring. Well I even did not noticed the place they fell from but "an insight envisioned me" and I finally assembled the lens. By the way it was not so hard to put bearings in place with a needle. Done!

...and I don't think LBA should strike me - just windowshopping for another one... maybe telephoto
