Nice shots with the Mamiya/Sekor 50/2. I have a 55/1.8 and it is a fine lens. At some point you might want to contribute a review.

Just snaffled a 50mm f1.8 on Ebay Steve. Looks like it will be my next lens to add pictures for this thread. Contributing to a review sounds like a great idea, especially as I'm getting a decent collection of lenses together. But I do lack a certain objectivity that may not suit the reviews or rating them unless the lenses are absolute crap as I've found most lenses I've bought have endearing qualities.

Johnno,

I have not noticed an overexposure problem with mine. That is strange that it only goes to f4.0 in the camera. I wonder if the lens is actually losing .2 stop, or if it is just a numerical error. Admittedly, there is not much difference between 3.8 and 4.0 anyway.

My only gripe with the lens is a need to adjust the exposure first couple of pictures as it has a tendency to over expose. I'll have to get around to buying a lens hood in the not too distant future as well.
Here is one from this afternoon with the Vivitar MC 19mm f3.8 PK/A. It rained all day, and this is a picture of raindrops on redbud tree leaves.

I think most of us suffer from the same problem

Looking at most of the reviews, it is amazing how few lenses have less than an 8 rating.

Hello guys.

Very nice lenses and pictures.

I bought a vivitar (tokina) pre set 85/1,8 T mount.

I'm waiting the laboratory scaner job.

The lens is very good (actually v. good plus). High contrast and high resolution too from F/4 to F/11 (typic planar design).

I have a J-9 and fujinon SF 85/4 in this focal lengh. When the scanned arrive I will share my pics with all, as you do with me.

Nice photos from the M/S. I don't use mine as much as my other 50/55s, but I can vouch for its consistent performance and solid build. You are going to like that lens

Steve, both the Mamiya Sekors have left me quite impressed. Mind you I don't think it was a gamble getting them as pics I've seen here from them showed very decent result.

What generation are your lenses? Are they the SX series?

Not sure on the SX series Steve, there's nothing on the lenses to indicate they are but they have the auto aperture switch if that means anything. The lens coatings are yellowish like the Super Takumar 50mm f1.4s.
