I hope vintage examples are OK.

Quantaray 24mm 2.8

I remember it as being rather on the murky side. And the corners.....
Still, I got some shots out of it that I just wouldn't have otherwise.
Printing on Varilour probably didn't help.

Hospital under demolition 1977. SP500 or H3v.
Church -- Scottish Rite Temple -- VCU Theater 1979 SP500 or Spotmatic

Soligor 180mm f3.5

there was some mentioning of Soligor on the second page of this thread, but not too many lenses presented yet.

I have a Soligor 180mm f3.5:

some more shots also mostlty at ISO 800 in this set: Soligor 180mm f3.5 - a set on Flickr

I once did a small test against the S-M-C Takumar 200mm f4:
http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...centrecopy.jpg

or in words I find it sharper than the Tak 200/4, specially at wide apertures, and it is lighter and faster.

Because I liked this lens I later also got another old M42 Soligor preset with the same 'face', a 25mm f2.8 lens, but I found it just average.

c a sugg, what a said view and well captured.

Andreas / kuuan, nothing left to be desired as a full open performance. What serial number is that ?
(now that you mention the previous discussion on Soligor). PS: Here's what I had found about it.

MC Jupiter 37A on K100D (135/3.5 M42 lens)

yes, this was wide open, just as the other photos taken during this concert linked above

This is an old M42 preset version, the lens is not with me now so I cannot verify it's serial number. I neither have very good photos of it, but these two which I had uploaded to my hosting site when I just had received the lens:

the comparison shots with the Tak 200/4 and Pentax FA J 75-300 at 200mm, they are 100& crops and I just post the links as they are too big to directly show here:

Hi Andreas,
I really like that old-school mechanics. Another 1KG Jules-Verne-style monster .-)
You might consider bumping it up in the lens fetish thread also.

ha, ha Georg, but I may wait for posting it at the fetish thread until I take better pictures of it.
Me too I like it's body, all metal body, very similar focus ring to those of Takumars. As mentioned I later had bought another Soligor of the same line, a 25mm f2.8 preset but whose optical performance did not impress me that much:

the photos of the 180mm f3.5 do mislead a bit, this lens actually is quite a bit lighter and smaller than e.g the Takumar 200 f4

that shot of your's with the MC Jupiter 37A is special, and it is a great lens which deserved mentioning in that thread: What's a good cheap 135mm to look out for?

Do Auto-Chinons count?? I love this one, even if it's a little blurry. I took it with my 50mm f/1.9...

Picked up a Chinon kit; CM-4s, 28 2.8, 135 2.8 and 50 1.9 for next to nothing at a flea market a few weeks ago, all clean and working perfectly. The tele and wide are MC. Color was with the 50 on a K200D. B&W are done on 5 years out of date Plus-X souped in Rodinal. 28 looks good out to the corners, which was kind of a surprise.

Got bored the other day and decided to take off the Takumar 35mm f/3.5 that I've been shooting with an adapter on my Canon 40D. Taped my FED 3B's Industar-61 in it's place, and shot a few pseudo-macros with it.

Lastly, the shot of the FED 3 is with the Pentax S-M-C Tak 35mm f/3.5 at f/8.
