I was on a Camera shop hunt in Osaka yesterday where there's about 8 or 9 shops that sell used gear, some shops just charging rediculous amounts ($600 USD for a SMC 50 1.4) and other much more resonable prices. One shop had three Super Takumar 105's, two for $150 USD (mint) and another slightly worn exterior but perfect glass for $50. So obviously I'm the proud owner of the latter 105 and I'll post some photos in the next few days.

I received my Super Tak 28 3.5 today, and it is in like new condition, as in no visible wear, ANYWHERE !! Even the original case is practically flawless. Here are a few quick shots I took with it this evening in the yard.... other than exposure comp on a few of these images, the only PP done on these was converting to JPEG in Raw Therapee, and cropping and resizing in PSE3.

I think I like it !!!!

Well ... I finally took a few of my photos to my local camera shop to get printed off (and enlarged) just to see how they turned out in print instead of on the screen.

All taken with Super Taks on the K10D ... and one with my Tamron 90mm (prior to getting Super Taks) ... the shop owner (who originally put me onto Pentax and got me away from Canikon was impressed).

This image I had enlarged to a 10"x15"

I had this one enlarged to 8"x11"

And this enlarged to 8"x11" as well

The 28/3.5 and the 105/2.8 are both superb lenses. Congratulations to our friend Figsy on joining the 105 gang.

Quite a nice lens.

I'd love to have one of those preset 200/3.5 Takumars, but I already have the 200/4 (which I don't use much) and decided to fill in other missing focal lengths before going after one.

That cell tower's a hoot... lovely industrial stuff there, guys. My longest Tak is 55mm, I just don't seem to get/need anything longer Takumar wise.

Here's my de-yellowed SMC 50/1.4, a decent enough lens

Not overdone and very classy colours. I really like the shapes created by the drums.

I was stuck in traffic next to a construction site and there was nothing else to shoot. I decided to give it a whirl and crop out the non-barrel portions of the shot. Is their being tilted like that what is meant by "barrel distortion"?

Having been properly inspired by the stunning wide-open shots recently posted from the 55/1.8 I decided to see what mine could do at a Buddhist temple waaay back in the mountains this afternoon:

Check out that crappy bokeh on the second shot!
