I heard from Nigel. He let the domain expire by accident. If he can get the contents back he will resurrect the site.

Ah, for me, the 55mm f1.8 is a magic lens and your photo shows why!

My M42 adaptor from Fotodiox arrived this morning so I got to play with my just purchased Pentax Super-Takumar 50mm/1.4, which I got in great shape for $45.

I did a quick test with window light only on a cloudy Seattle day. Camera is a Canon 5D at ASA 100.

I shot three pics: wide open at 1.4, at 2.8 and 8.0. I did no curves or other adjustments. I resampled the three images down and flattened the document for the web. I used a slight amount of Unsharp Mask at 86% for the final flat file.

I like the look, its "mellower" than my Canons but with lots of sharp detail. Informal survey from my wife indicates that we both like the dreamy look of the first shot, wide open at 1.4. Look forward to trying this lens out with some portraits.

Just got my new 100mm F4 Macro 1:2 today. Picked up a genuine Pentax M42 adapter on the weekend. The adapter works great. Here is a sample picture. More pics have been put in the photo thread also.

Another with my SMC Takumar 55mm, bit too much unsharp mask, and it looks a little too much like a postcard

Every now and then I'll leave work at lunchtime for a while and walk out to the estuary to work on my manual focusing skills.

Here's one with my Takumar 200mm f/3.5:

I was bidding on an 85 1.8 and it wasn't in great condition. Ended up losing by a few bucks I think. That is fine though. Getting myself an IR converted IST DS soooo I'll have to wait on that lens.

Totally excellent!! I love these sorts of photos... an Auto Tak 35? Mmm, I have a couple of these old Taks and they tend to be my favorites, they do light well.

Growing up in Finland, when we went mushrooming, me a tot, somehow I knew which ones weren't poisonous. Your photo brings back memories...
